51 SEED TESTING INTERNATIONAL APRIL 2026 • TRAINING AND EDUCATION Selma Kurt and Daniela Villa, organiser and lecturer Moisture testing took up the last two days. On day four, Bülent Öztürk demonstrated the sampling practice for the moisture test, followed by Daniela Villa, holding a theoretical session on moisture tests according to the ISTA Rules. Daniela Villa and Selma Kurt then presented a practical training session on different species using two different sampling preparation techniques. The participants were able to practice on the no-grind Lolium sp., then on a species requiring coarse grinding, Cicer arietinum. On the last day, Daniela Villa and Selma Kurt trained the participants in the moisture test on finely ground Triticum aestivum subsp. aestivum. At the end of the practical exercise, a question- and-answer session was proposed to solve specific issues. This was followed by a valued and open-minded discussion, not only with the lecturers, but also among the participants, with the aim of sharing knowledge and experiences. All questions were answered, and all details were presented both theoretically and practically. During the preliminary assessment of the workshop the participants had found it helpful and enlightening, with their stated expectations at the beginning of the workshop having been fully met. A pleasant social programme was arranged: on Tuesday afternoon, all participants and lecturers went on a tour of the Kur unlu Waterfall and to the tourist area of Kale çi in Antalya. A social dinner was held on Wednesday evening with a pleasant casual atmosphere. The certificate award ceremony took place on the last day, when the participants and the lecturers received their attendance certificates.
