DO YOU PLANT A GARDEN? WHY OR WHY NOT? 1. We have always planted a garden because it feels like the fundamental way for my kids to understand where their food actually comes from. 2. Yes. It’s a stress reliever in the spring but when July comes, it’s just the opposite. I can’t deliver tomatoes and zucchinis to doorsteps fast enough. 3. Yes. I find it satisfying to grow my own produce. Garden vegetables are much more flavorful than store bought. 4. We plant a container garden. Many herbs, tomatoes, peppers and lettuce. I look forward to a time with less travel where we can have a real garden and potentially a greenhouse. 5. In my case, the Shoemaker’s kids go barefoot. No garden plan for this year.
