Kaptan Tarım has been in fruit sapling production for nearly thirty 
years and supplies all 81 provinces of Türkiye, with a range that runs 
from apple and cherry through to avocado, mango, dragon fruit, coffee, 
premium olive varieties such as Arbequina, Arbosana, Koroneiki, and 
Gemlik. The afternoon shifts to Güney Agripark, a 4,000 square-meter 
tissue culture lab spun out of Akdeniz University Technopolis. Annual 
capacity sits at 25 million plants, with micropropagation work on over 
400 varieties including blueberry, kiwi, and stone fruit rootstocks.
Sapling Tour
Two contrasting models in a single day. Farminova Seedling Factories 
runs fully controlled indoor environments with LED photoperiod 
management, automated pH and EC dosing, and closed-system 
biosecurity. Has Seedling, founded in 2000, produces 70 million standard 
and 15 million grafted seedlings annually across 60,000 square meters of 
greenhouse, and was a pioneer in grafted production in Türkiye from 
2004. Side by side, the visits offer a working comparison between vertical, 
data-driven seedling production and large-scale commercial grafting.

Yuksel Seeds, headquartered in Türkiye with stations in the Netherlands, 
Spain, Mexico, China, and Pakistan, exports to more than 85 countries 
and runs over 900 commercial varieties across 18 species. Istanbul Tarım, 
operating its DELTA SEED brand from 210 decares of greenhouse, focuses 
on hybrid peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, melons, and 
watermelons. Genetika Seeds combines traditional plant breeding with 
modern genetics across a 160,000 square-meter facility.

Rijk Zwaan Seeds, a name familiar to most ASC 
delegates, hosts on the breeding side, including its work 
on digital phenotyping and AI-assisted variety 
development. Syngenta completes the day, with stops in 
its global R&D and digital agriculture programs.
