These facets include policy and legal frameworks education and training oppor- tunities and the science of seed applied technologies just to name a few. Below are some of the outstanding individuals who have transformed these areas and helped to create a new seed era. Bernice Slutsky Few people have been as intimate in shaping the policy around plant technology and biotechnology as Bernice Slutsky. To sum it up shes been influencing policy and how biotech events are handled from the time they receive regulatory approval for commercial use to how regulatory approvals are to be handled andor maintained once an events patent expires. From policy to education there are a number of people who have devoted their careers to making the seed industry what it is today.
