WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST PAYING JOB? 1. My first paying job was driving a grain truck (not on our farm, pay was non- existent there) for our neighbor, a whole $4 per hour. I thought I was rich! 2. My first paycheck came from selling a 4-H hog when I was 10. 3. My first paying job was a paper delivery route in my neighborhood. 4. I was roughly 9 years of age, and I got into the newspaper business. Spending my summers at the lake, I made my own weekend newspaper route, and had a “deal” with one of the convenience store owners to give me his price on newspapers (versus the consumer price). 5. Ha, OK. My first paying job was as a busboy at one of those breakfast all day restaurants.
