NIELSEN Chief Scientific Officer, DLF Klaus is in charge of securing next- generation leading-edge products through DLF’s global research and development organization. These major R&D activities encompass a number of goal-directed breeding programs, enhanced by the implementation of state-of-the-art biotechnology tools, such as genomic selection and new trait screening systems. He holds a master of science and a PhD in molecular plant pathology from the Agricultural University of Copenhagen. Before entering into the career track of research management, he gained broad experience in various disciplines in the areas of plant biology and biotechnology. BERNARD DUBOIS Head of Supply Chain, Euralis Semences, France With 30 years experience in the seeds business, at this moment Bernard is implementing his knowledge to launch know-how solutions that improve business process flow. Graduate of Toulouse Agricultural Agronomics Superior School, he started his career as an export commercial engineer at Rustica company. Later, after numerous merges, when Euralis brand was created, Bernard joined the company as a logistics manager. Nowadays, he has a team of 15 persons working to deliver seeds all over the Europe in the shortest term. BELINDA BAILEY Environmental Initiatives Manager, UK and Eire, Syngenta Belinda grew up on a family farm in the UK. In 1996 she graduated from the Royal Agricultural University with a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture and Land Management. Belinda joined Syngenta 20 years ago and has carried out various roles within the technical, sales and marketing teams. Belinda has for many years been one of the key drivers behind Syngenta’s Operation Pollinator programme. KHALED RAED Innovation manager, PETKUS Technologie GmbH Dr. Khaled Raed is an expert in aerodynamics, thermal conductivity and individually adapted streaming technology. As a young scientist at the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany), his excellence and preferences for innovative technologies were already awarded with the Charles F. Lucks Award. Combining out of the box thinking with profound knowledge of the technology as well as the business needs makes him the brain behind the PETKUS/ ROEBER innovations. He designed inter alia the new PETKUS gravity table series including the midex working principle, the MultiCoater for coating and drying in one single step and machine as well as the zig- zag shaped fluidized bed dryer. His credo is designing innovative machines with enhanced practical and economic benefit for seed producers. Thus, prototyping innovations, mapping out the strategies for series production, and benchmarking and launching of new seed processing technologies are his spheres of activity.
