BUSINESS NEWS Potash Corporation and Agrium Inc. report the regulatory review and approval process has progressed in all remaining jurisdictions, regarding their proposed merger of equals. Both companies remain confident in consummating the merger of equals and expect to close the transaction by the end of the fourth quarter of 2017. Upon closing the merger transaction, the new company will be named Nutrien. On Sept. 5, AGCO and The Climate Corporation, a subsidiary of Monsanto, announced the closing agreements have been signed to finalize AGCO’s purchase of Precision Planting LLC. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. When the market closed Aug. 31, the merger of equals between Dow and DuPont also closed, making the merger final. Shares of DowDuPont began trading on the NYSE under the stock ticker symbol “DWDP” Sept. 1. Spinoffs are expected for the next 18 months. The new DowDuPont Board of Directors includes eight representatives from Dow and eight from DuPont.
