Every year, the Western Seed Association honors one outstanding individual with the Kurt Austermann Young Seedsman of the Year award—a recognition that goes beyond just industry achievements. It’s a chance for young professionals to highlight their contributions to agriculture, leadership, and innovation in the seed sector.
For those who are passionate about making a difference, this award offers the platform to share your story, connect with mentors and to inspire others in the industry. Whether you’ve led sustainability initiatives, developed new products or influenced positive change in your community, this is an opportunity to shine.
Eligible individuals are age 40 or younger. Nominees must currently be involved in the seed industry and have a willingness to help and work with others in the seed industry. They must also be actively involved in the Western Seed Association.
To apply or nominate someone, visit the WSA’s nomination page. For more information or for questions, contact Tina Bowling at tina@westernseed.org.
