As 2016 spring wheat variety selection approaches in the Northern Plains, Syngenta introduces SY Valda hard red spring wheat variety. This new semi-dwarf variety offers a strong disease package including tolerance to stem and leaf rust, tan spot and Fusarium head blight. SY Valda is broadly adapted and suited for the Northern Plains, according to the company.
“The basis of the AgriPro breeding program has been providing growers with high protein varieties like SY Ingmar and SY Soren, and now we have a new high yield variety like SY Valda, which is very exciting to complement the program,” said Corey Dathe, Northern Plains cereals key account lead, Syngenta.
Other AgriPro brand hard red spring wheat varieties for the Northern Plains that will be offered for 2016 include SY Ingmar, SY Rowyn, SY Soren, SY Tyra, SY605 CL, Kelby, Jenna, and Brennan.
