The Seed Innovation and Protection Alliance (SIPA) is hosting a technical education unit in Anaheim, California on Feb. 2, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in conjunction with the American Seed Trade Association Flower and Vegetable Conference. The technical education unit will include presentations on the America Invents Act, patent and PVP labeling, trademarks and varietal names as well as licensing issues in the agriculture industry.
Barb Campbell of Cochran Freund & Young will be providing a presentation on trademarks and their use in the agriculture industry. The session will include a discussion on common law and federal trademarks, use of trademarks and varietal names, tips for procuring trademark protection, licensing of trademarks as well as enforcement of trademark rights.
