Gro Alliance, the nation’s largest, independently owned seed corn production company, announces that it has reached an agreement with BCD Enterprises, LLC to acquire its soybean and sunflower seed conditioning and packaging facility. Located in Breckenridge, Minn, the facility was formerly owned by Seeds2000 and is currently managed by Legend Seeds.
“Acquiring the Breckenridge location is the perfect opportunity to expand our operations into both soybeans and sunflowers with one move,” said Jim Schweigert, President of Gro Alliance. “By partnering with Gro Alliance on production capacity, retail companies can put their full focus on growing sales. This is truly a win-win for Gro Alliance and Legend Seeds.”
“Gro Alliance managing the conditioning of seed allows us to focus 100 percent of our efforts on continuing to bring the best genetics and outstanding service to our expanding dealer and customer base in the Midwest, Plains and Canada,” said Tim Bratland, General Manager of Legend Seeds. “Gro Alliance has been an outstanding production partner and its industry-leading seed quality has been a key part of our growth and success.”
Closing is scheduled for summer of 2016.
