AgReliant Genetics president and CEO Craig Newman will step down as CEO of the company Jan. 1, 2016, with an official retirement date of June 30.
“Craig has been a real driving force in the ongoing growth of AgReliant and in becoming the third largest player in the North American corn seed market,” says Adrian Huige, chairman of the AgReliant Genetics Members Committee. “We have greatly appreciated Craig’s leadership and enthusiasm during all these years and wish him all the best for the future.”
Newman previously served as the vice president of sales and marketing before taking on the role of president and CEO in 2012.
“It has been a privilege to work in the seed industry for 37 years,” Newman says. “I look forward to working with the new leadership during the transition through the end of June. I’m extremely proud of the growth and success that AgReliant Genetics has experienced since its inception in 2000 and will be excited to follow its continued progress well into the future.”
Newman served in several leadership roles in the industry including general manager of both Akin Seed and Callahan Seeds, which later became part of AgReliant Genetics. He also served as president of Illinois Seed Dealers and chairman of the American Seed Trade Association.
The new president and CEO of AgReliant Genetics will be announced in the coming weeks.
