The Bayer Group continued to grow sales in the second quarter of 2015 and significantly increased earnings. At CropScience, sales matched the strong level of the prior-year quarter, while earnings improved.
Sales of the agriculture business increased by 10.2 percent to EUR 2,723 million (Q2 2014: EUR 2,470 million). After adjusting for currency and portfolio effects, sales were level with the strong prior-year quarter (minus 0.6 percent).
“CropScience held its own in what remained a difficult market environment, particularly in Latin America,” says chief executive officer Marijn Dekkers.
