Platform Specialty Products Corporation, a diversified specialty chemicals company has closed its acquisition of Arysta LifeScience Limited from the Permira funds for approximately $3.51 billion.
This marks Platform’s third acquisition within the crop protection operating segment. Platform Specialty Products acquired Agriphar Oct. 1, 2014, and Chemtura AgroSolutions Nov. 3, 2014. Through these acquisitions, Platform now has an operating agrochemicals footprint in more than 100 countries and expects to benefit from a global supply chain that should results in immediate operational efficiencies.
Arysta’s president and CEO, Wayne Hewett, is now Platform’s president, leading the agrochemical businesses and overseeing the company’s operations.
