On Feb. 11, Eurofins Scientific announced that it had acquired BioDiagnostics Inc. — one of the leading seed and plant-tissue testing laboratories in the United States.

With 120 staff at its laboratory in River Falls, Wisconsin, BDI offers genetic, seed quality and analytical chemistry testing services to the seed and plant industries. Founded in 1996, BDI has developed a strong competence in DNA analysis of field crops, especially corn and soybeans.
According to Eurofins, BDI’s competencies complement and build onto its capabilities in the industry. Through the acquisition, BDI will gain access to the latest technologies in genetic testing and other analytical methods, as well as all of Eurofins technical know-how.
