American Takii recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of a new office building and state-of-the-art facility to allow for the expansion of seed processing, warehousing and shipping operations.
The company reports that this expansion will enable American Takii to be a world-wide distribution center for the vegetable and flower seed products of Takii & Company, Ltd. The new facility is expected to be in operation by fall of 2015.
Leading the groundbreaking was American Takii’s General Manager/COO Steve Wiley, CFO Glen Marks along with Ausonio’s Vice President/Senior Project Manager Ignacio “Mog” Cabatu and President Andrew Ausonio. Staff from both American Takii and Ausonio were on hand to celebrate the occasion.
“As Takii and Company moves ahead into our 180th year, we look forward to this strategic expansion, which will enable more efficient processing and facilitate global distribution of Takii’s vegetable and flower seeds,” says Steve Wiley, general manager and chief operating officer. “This facility will enable us to eliminate bottlenecks in the logistics process and move seed orders to our customers more quickly.”
American Takii, Inc. Is a breeder/producer of vegetable and flower seeds, and is a subsidiary of Takii & Company, Ltd, headquartered in Kyoto, Japan.
