Here’s How We Saw It: Snapshots from Monday at ISTA

Friendships renewed, business partnerships confirmed, business deals in discussion… and a whole lot of handshakes. Here’s a sneak peek at Day 1 of the ISTA Centenary Annual Meeting in Cambridge.

Session 3 on Day 1 featured (left to right) Jaime Cubero (CSIC, INIA – Spain); Marcel Westenberg (NIVIP – the Netherlands); and Ruud Barnhoorn (Naktuinbouw – the Netherlands) speaking about high throughput sequencing use in pathogen detection on seed.
Manuela Nagel (Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research – Germany) spoke in Session 1 about seed longevity in long term storage.
Ji Zhou, head of NIAB’s Data Sciences Department and phenomics programme leader, spoke at the opening of ISTA’s annual meeting on AI-powered seed quality and vigour assessment.
