Albaugh announced that the company received registration from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for Caballero herbicide (EPA Reg No. 42750-375). The product will be available this spring, according to a release.
According to the release, “Caballero is a premix formulation of clopyralid and flumetsulam, designed for use on herbicide-resistant (including Roundup Ready or LibertyLink) and conventional field corn and silage corn.”
The formulation is concentrated which makes mixing the acetochlor or metolachlor easier. Caballero controls a wide variety of weeds while reducing costs in handling, storage and disposal areas.
“Caballero is a powerful product offering that will expand Albaugh’s presence in the corn herbicide market,” said Andy Bogue, Albaugh U.S. sales director, crop protection. “This formulation provides excellent application flexibility and crop safety, along with exceptional weed control. And the unique combination gives retailers and their grower customers a versatile tank-mix partner with their preferred grass herbicide.”
