While Corteva has sourced components for its own seed brands for multiple years, the company’s decision to build offering a full seed applied technology platform to others will increase the company’s marketplace reach and provide partnership opportunities to channel partners and farmers.
Corteva is off to a running start, securing and launching six new seed applied technology offers within just the last year. While the company’s primary focus is on premium solutions for corn and soybeans, it will also offer effective options for a host of other crops including cereals, cotton and rice.
Some of Corteva’s new seed applied offerings include:
– Lumisena fungicide seed treatment: the backbone of Corteva’s soybean treatment offers a unique fungicide for Phytophthora, the number one yield inhibiting disease in soybeans. The soybean product offer also provides superior protection from Pythium spp., Fusarium spp., and Rhizoctonia solani;
– Lumiscend™ Pro fungicide seed treatment: a new three-way fungicidal seed treatment specifically formulated to protect corn against Pythium spp., Fusarium spp., and Rhizoctonia solani. This is the first time these ingredients have been offered in a premix offer from Corteva.
– Lumialza™ nematicide seed treatment: a biological nematicide that shields corn roots for more than 80 days while supporting beneficial organisms.

Corteva has the reach to screen a comprehensive and ever-growing library of conventional and new-chemistry fungicides, insecticides, biologicals, and hard chemistry ingredients for efficacy against today’s biggest yield robbers. Working not only from its own platforms of crop protection and biologicals but also via collaborations with others, Corteva is able to provide premium products from across the industry to build superior recipes.
Development. Corteva’s extensive trialing system, as well as its reach through partner collaborators, means Corteva can vet technologies from small research trials to an extremely large scale.
Delivery. Corteva engages its proven PASSER approval system, a system that ensures each new technology aligns and exceeds Plant Ability, Applications, Seed Safety, Stewardship, Efficacy and Regulatory checks. Once a technology passes Corteva’s rigorous approval system, the company knows the product is ready to market.
