In our latest Seed World Podcast Series, Hélène Khan Niazi, international agriculture manager of the International Seed Federation (ISF) joins Editor Alex Martin to talk about everything from a pandemic-filled year to what key strategic objectives (KSOs) she’s been working.
Khan Niazi has her hands full at ISF — she not only leads the Forage and Turf Section of ISF, but also heads the Sustainable Agriculture Committee, Breeders Committee and Intellectual Property Committee as well! However, she wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s loved getting to see and learn the similarities and differences of topics that overlap with her prior law career and her current position with ISF. But, she’s found a passion with ISF, because she enjoys getting to promote the voice of the seed sector at the international level.
In addition to talking about her past life as a lawyer, she dives into how the KSOs are driving her committees’ directions. She specifically works with two KSOs. KSO No. 2, to accelerate the delivery of innovation and enable seed to remain a contributor to solutions that address farmer and consumer needs, and KSO No. 4, to encourage policy environments that support fair and sustainable business models.
