Kurtis grew up detasseling seed corn on his parents’ farm, Maizex Seeds, where he developed a passion for the natural world. He completed a degree in Biology (Wilfrid Laurier University) and a Masters of Science in Environmental Science (University of Guelph) before becoming an online science educator. His science videos have been viewed over 10 million times on YouTube and have been featured on VICE and BBC news. In recent years, he has focussed his communication efforts towards helping raise the alarm about the climate crisis.
