Compliance is a cornerstone of the Clariant Agrocer product line, providing customers industry leading performance with the power to market a finished product for global markets.
Clariant’s Agrocer business has partnered with Standard Colors Agro Group to bring industry leading seed treatments to the agriculture market. Safety, sustainability, regulatory compliance and performance are their pillars of operations.
“As a global company, our leading directives are safety, sustainability and compliance,” says Mark Self, market segment manager for special applications at Colorants Solutions USA, LLC, a Clariant company, “and our goal is to be the industry standard—to set the bar high for others in the industry to follow in regard to safety, sustainability, compliance and performance.”
Clariant’s Agrocer products are exempt from hazardous labeling requirements, meet strict purity requirements for heavy metals and primary aromatic amine content. They have also been tested for seed safety in various aspects by Clariant and the result of the test did not show a negative impact on germination.
Providing products for the global market requires strict adherence and compliance to global regulatory bodies, a production practice the Agrocer team holds to the highest standard, as Kevin Brost, Standard Colors Agro Group’s vice president of business development, shares.
“Uniformity in the production process and ingredients are core pieces of providing the customer with a safe and compliant product because even though not every customer we deal with is an international customer, the seeds they are producing may be distributed globally whether as seed for planting for the sale or the final crop.
“Through the Clariant Agrocer system, our customers have dependable colors for their seeds. Every product solution we provide is consistent and EPA compliant,” he says.
The range of color offerings and products Agrocer offers is based on the six most globally significant pigment types used in agricultural seed applications and meet the requirements for inclusion under U.S. EPA 40 CFR §180.920 (or other applicable sections). These are cleared to be applied on crops for food use in seed treatment. The products are also compliant with the European REACH Regulation.
Longtime and well-known agricultural innovators including Clariant’s Mark Self and the Standard Colors Agro Group team of Kevin Brost and John Kibbee, bring leadership in customer service and product development, providing immediate technical, compliance and application information and assistance to Agrocer’s customers of all sizes.
The Agrocer’s team’s expertise offers customers one-on-one conversation to answer questions and to provide tailored solutions to their needs.
“Our best customers are very stringent in their product requirements, and the business of seed treatment is a multifaceted one; it varies by crop and geography. Those three things call for multi-level sales and service, along with attention to new product needs and compliance, to reach customers of all sizes,” Kevin Brost says.
