AgReliant Genetics Continues to Invest in Soybean Business Growth

AgReliant

AgReliant Genetics has announced that their Aroma Park location will be converted to a soybean conditioning facility in addition to serving as a corn distribution location. This investment will support AgReliant Genetics’ significant industry growth and optimize its efficiencies to continue providing trusted seed solutions that help farmers grow.

“Growing soybean sales have demanded an increase in our internal soybean production capacity,” says Frank Lynch, vice president of Operations, AgReliant Genetics. “This was a decision made with both long-term sustainability and our customer experience in mind. Expanding on our internal soybean production will give us better control of inventory and help to ensure we are operating efficiently, effectively and ultimately, providing the best products for our customers.”

Capital investment will be made this summer to upgrade the facility and prepare the current conditioning tower for soybeans. Conversion of the Aroma Park facility will begin at the conclusion of AgReliant Genetics’ 2018 shipping season.

“Choosing to invest in the Aroma Park facility by converting it to a soybean production site gives us the opportunity to maximize parts of the location’s existing structure, gain additional efficiencies by delivering both corn and soybeans, and capitalize on the site’s ideal geographical location, ultimately allowing us to bring that value back to our customers,” says Craig Anderson, COO of AgReliant Genetics.

AgReliant Genetics’ Aroma Park production facility is located in Kankakee County, Ill. With its central location on Interstate 57, the facility provides direct road access that allows AgReliant Genetics’ to better serve its corn and soybean customers.

Current Aroma Park corn capacity will be shifted to other AgReliant Genetics production sites, in an effort to fully maximize efficiencies throughout the organization. AgReliant Genetics will meet with their previous seed corn growers in the area to discuss the opportunity of growing soybeans on contract for the converted facility starting in the 2018 growing season.

AgReliant Genetics offers soybean seed to farmers through their product brands, AgriGold, Great Lakes Hybrids, LG Seeds, PRIDE Seeds, Producers Hybrids and Wensman.
