Danespo, a potato breeding, producing and seed trading company owned by DLF and Florimond Desprez, welcomes Jens Holstborg to its team as managing director.
“By employing Jens Holstborg, Danespo will get a new strong managing director with huge experience in the fields of plant breeding, business development and working in global organizations,” says Truels Damsgaard, Danespo chairman of the board. “Danespo is a solid organization and I am confident that the company will continue the positive development with Jens Holstborg as managing director.”
Holstborg has been serving as managing director for DSV Seed Denmark and will succeed Steen Bitsch, who is taking a new position as CEO of Vestjyllands Andel.
After graduating with a master’s degree in dairy science and technology from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen, Holstborg took a job with Danisco where he eventually became director for business development and marketing in the gums and systems division. In 2008, he made the move to Hunsballe Frø as managing director. The company changed its name to DSV Frø Denmark in 2013 as a result of its acquisition by DSV.
Since 2015, Holtsborg has been serving as the director of DSV’s international division of grasses and cover crops. Internationally, he is a member of Breeders Trust and the European Seed Association. He chairs ESA’s Forage Crops Section.
