Tomorrow (March 9), Seed World will host a Strategy webinar that explores the question: “Can seed treatments improve water use efficiency?” Understanding the relationship between the two is important given that planting season is just weeks away and most of Missouri and parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and North and South Carolina are already experiencing moderate to extreme drought, according to the United States Drought Monitor. More states could be joining the ranks of drought status as the southern halves of Illinois and Indiana are “Abnormally Dry.”
At 1 p.m. Eastern, Bruce Battles, Syngenta Seedcare technology manager, will highlight the role of seed treatments as it relates to plant health and what it means for water access. He’ll also talk about plant vigor and share research behind one of the company’s seed treatments.
Afterward, Jesse Deardorf will share what’s behind a new microbial seed treatment that’s making waves for cotton growers and what it could mean for other crops. Deardorf is a product management lead at Indigo, a company that uses nature and beneficial microbes to optimize crop health and improve productivity.
