At the American Seed Trade Association’s Vegetable & Flower Seed Conference in Orlando, the association soft launched a new website to help educate others about the importance of plant breeding innovation and the role it plays. That website, seedinginnovation.org, made its big debut this week.
Through videos, news, fact sheets and breeder profiles, visitors can learn about plant breeding innovation. They can better understand what plant breeders do, and what the latest breeding techniques, such as gene editing, could mean for the future of agriculture and our society. Ted Superak of HM.CLAUSE is one of the first plant breeders profiled as part of the site. Check out what Superak has to say at seedinginnovation.org/meet-the-breeder-ted-superak/.
The plant breeding innovation micro-site is a multimedia platform that houses FAQs, a blog, plant breeder profiles, videos, one-pagers and other resources about the evolution, and future, of plant breeding.
Plant breeding innovation continues to be a key focus for ASTA, as well as the International Seed Federation. Stay tuned as Seed World covers more on this topic in the coming months.
