What exactly are seed treatments worth? That’s the question a group of experts are going to try and answer during a webinar to be held Thursday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. Eastern. Palle Pedersen of Syngenta Seedcare, Jason Bond of Southern Illinois University and Shawn Conley of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, will share their insight and the latest research.
Even though corn and soybean prices are up slightly, many farmers will operate at or below breakeven costs in 2017, according to agricultural economists from the University of Illinois. Understanding growers’ needs and the value of seed treatments will be one of the issues discussed in the upcoming webinar. Participants will learn about:
- A few of the products on the market today and how they hold work in different farm management systems.
- Disease pressures the seed must overcome in the first stages of growth.
- How seed treatments can impact replant decisions.
