Garden Bureau Hosts Online Voting for Favorite Therapeutic Garden
Since 2014, the National Garden Bureau (NGB), through the donation of grant money, has been supporting the growth of therapeutic gardens across North America. This year, the NGB has teamed up with Sakata Seed America to offer $3,000 to the first place winner, and $1,000 to the second- and third-place winners.
Voting is available online at http://ngb.org/garden-grant-voting-2017/ until Friday, Sept. 15. It’s “one person, one vote.”
This year’s finalists are the University of Wisconsin Extension in Milwaukee County, Monarch Schoole of New England and The Farm at Penny Lane Horticultural Therapy Program. Each finalist has a short video to share a little about what they do and how they do it.
“Caring for plants and experiencing nature brings healing and purpose to people whose lives have been affected by illness, addiction, violence or military service,” says Heather Kibble, NGB president.
