NAPB Meeting Offers Chance to Tour WSU Othello Research Farm
The National Association of Plant Breeders holds its fifth annual meeting July 28-30 in Pullman, Washington. The theme for this year’s gathering is “Identifying and utilizing genetic diversity” and includes a keynote speech by University of Minnesota professor and endowed chair in corn breeding and genetics Rex Bernardo, as well as sessions and workshops.
Don’t miss an opportunity to tour the Washington State University Othello research farm, before heading to WSU-Prosser to visit local breeding programs and affiliated scientists specializing in apple scion, cherry scion and rootstock, wheat, alfalfa, dry bean, hop and potato, as well as affiliated programs such as the National Clean Plant Center, AgWeatherNet and the Center for Precision & Automated Agricultural Systems.
