The seed sector stands at a crossroads, shaped by evolving regulations, technological breakthroughs, and shifting global trade dynamics. As challenges grow, so do opportunities for innovation and collaboration. Euroseeds 2025 will bring together industry leaders, experts, and policymakers to tackle the most pressing issues, explore cutting-edge solutions, and chart the future of seed production and plant breeding.
Following the annual meeting in Copenhagen, which hosted over 1,300 attendees from around the world last year, the upcoming Euroseeds Congress will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland. Scheduled for Oct. 19–22, 2025, the event will serve as a key platform for discussions on the latest developments shaping the European seed sector.
“What you can expect is a first-class venue, providing top-tier meeting, exhibition, and networking facilities, engaging discussions led by expert speakers on the most pressing challenges and opportunities for our seed industry, and a dynamic atmosphere that fosters valuable exchange, new partnerships, and business growth,” said Garlich von Essen, Euroseeds Secretary General.
What’s New This Year?
Building on last year’s success, the InnovAction Stage returns as a platform for cutting-edge solutions in our sector. This year, the spotlight is on innovations in seed production, quality, cleaning, sorting, drying, and storage. Startups, SMEs, and public-private partnerships will showcase their latest advancements and compete for the Euroseeds2025 InnovActor award.
“Innovation is at the heart of everything we do,” von Essen, said. “And Euroseeds2025 is where we again come together to shape the future of our industry. From policy discussions to business networking, from cutting-edge research to the latest industry innovations – the Euroseeds2025 has it all.”
Once again, the Congress will tackle the key issues shaping the future of the seed sector:
- How do geopolitics, protectionism, and seed sovereignty influence international trade rules and impact our industry? Can global cooperation still ensure stability?
- With the UK moving forward on plant breeding innovation through enabling regulations for Novel Genomic Techniques—and the EU hopefully following suit—what does this mean for European seed trade? How can we align regulations to foster collaboration?
- EU-UK cooperation remains a priority, particularly in phytosanitary standards, seed marketing rules, and broader regulatory alignment.
