One full decade of Seed World Europe and I am wildly proud of the team that continues to bring insightful content to the global seed sector. This team is a dynamic group of seed industry professionals that are committed to:

  • Creating a platform to share the issues related to the seed industry.
  • Creating content that pushes us to think outside the box (you might not agree with every single word, every single issue but it WILL make you think!)
  • Advancing the messages that educate and inform a much larger audience than the great conversations we have amongst ourselves as it is delivered to national government leaders as well as EU leaders and large-scale producers.

With having created such a dynamic audience and with the support of a fully engaged Editorial Advisory Board, who have taken on advancing this platform, they continue to share why they believe it is so important to the success of the larger sector. This creates an opportunity for companies working in the sector to truly connect to this very important audience. What would you like to say?

There is not a boardroom I enter anymore that is not thinking and talking about telling their story, either better or more. It is critical that we continue to connect and share the “seed story” and continue to tell this audience how and why the suppliers to the agricultural sector are critical partners for success today and into the future.

I hear regularly from many of the national associations that our efforts, in partnership with Euroseeds, are having an impact in Brussels and that the details of our story are getting through. In addition, we have advertisers and content providers that stop me in hallways all the time to tell me a story about the growth or awareness or opportunity that came from their efforts in the print publication, the regular emails and/or the website — and let’s not forget social media!! In short: getting your story out there works.

What to Say?

If you had a room full of an audience that may be interested in your products or services, what would you say to them? What information or stories would you tell them that would allow them to understand how you might be helpful to them?

Understanding these answers and creating content or impactful ways to tell YOUR story is indeed critical to your success. If you have great answers for the above questions, we can help you get in front of the right people. The Number One Question

The number one question that I get asked is “how do I know what marketing efforts will truly move the needle?” and it is a good question! The number one answer I would give is HAVE A PLAN. In most companies that we talk to, the minute that they move towards having a very clear plan laid out, their success rate goes through the roof. And please remember that marketing’s job is to generate leads or identify potential clients whereas SALES job is to convert those leads into revenue. A clear marketing plan will lead to identifying how your company collects these leads and often shows how we are missing so many of those opportunities. What do you think makes up a successful marketing or go-to market strategy? Where would you rate your current plan on a scale of 1-10?
