At the ISF World Seed Congress 2023 in Cape Town, South Africa, Marcel Bruins, Editorial Director of European Seed, sits down with Ruramiso Mashumba, CEO & Founder at Mnandi Africa. As a farmer herself, she indicates what are the biggest challenges for an African farmer at the moment and how best to overcome them. Mashumba also runs the organization Mnandi Africa, and she explains what this organization is doing. By 2050, the estimates are that Africa will have 1 billion additional people, and she shares where they will get the extra food for them all. She closes the interview with advice for the global and African seed sector, and how they can best help the African farmers.
