Marcel Bruins, the editorial director for European Seed, sat down with Erez Atzmon, vice president business development at Phenome Networks, at the Euroseeds 2022 Congress to talk about data and the company he works for.
“We’re a software solution company specifically for the breeders and variety testing solution, and we’re actually to be the global leader in this field,” said Atzmon. “It’s a platform that was designed by breeders, for breeders. We actually gather, store and manage the huge amounts of data that was that is always generated in this field, that we enable the researchers to actually gain knowledge from all this data.”
He said Phenome Networks enable the researchers to gather the information with a mobile app that works online or offline on any mobile device. Atzmon said their research shows that when people are using their software or mobile app to gather more information and take more photos — that way, researchers are more willing to work with them. The data is stored either on the cloud or stored through working with Amazon Web Services, which means it is stored securely and can never be breached.
“And it’s accessible to the researchers, whenever they have internet connection. That’s all they need,” he said, adding that they provide all types of analytical tools they so it will actually allow the researchers to gain the knowledge from that data.
Atzmon said what sets them apart from their competition is their emphasis on advanced solutions.
“We have artificial intelligence based algorithms that assist the breeders to reach the goal earlier, saves them time and money.”
