Integrated pest management (IPM) is moving even further up the agenda, not only politically but also because of the withdrawal of key pesticides.
It’s why IPM will be discussed at this autumn’s AAB/BCPC Crop Protection in Southern Britain conference.
The conference will include particular reference to the withdrawal of the neonicotinoid seed dressings and the current concern over the review of chlorothalonil’s approval.
Supported by AHDB, the conference provides a major platform for advisers and practitioners to hear about the latest developments in crop protection.
Spanning a day and half in Brighton, the conference features papers on the key crop protection issues facing the UK, including:
> Fungicide resistance (including the control of ramularia without chlorothalonil)
> Disease control in wheat with recently developed fungicides
> Black-grass management
> Insecticide resistance (including pest management in the absence of neonicotinoid seed treatments)
> The implications of Brexit on pesticide regulation in the UK
> The co-operative approach to pesticide registration in New Zealand
> The implications of a possible ban on glyphosate in France
