Syngenta Canada has announced the addition of its Atuva inoculants to its pulse and soybean portfolios. These inoculants, which include both seed- and soil-applied rhizobia bacteria, are designed to enhance nodulation and support biological nitrogen fixation in pulse and soybean crops, the company said.
“Atuva inoculants provide pulse and soybean growers with a reliable option for maximizing nodulation, particularly in challenging conditions such as high heat or low soil moisture,” said Chris Dumigan, technical lead for biologicals at Syngenta Canada. He also noted the compatibility of Atuva with various seed treatments.
Syngenta will offer two granular and three liquid formulations of Atuva inoculants for the 2025 growing season. The liquid formulations are designed for ease of use, with a high concentration of rhizobia, low application rates, and long on-seed life.
The new line of inoculants is the result of a collaboration with RIZOBACTER, a company recognized for its work in agricultural microbiology and inoculant research. According to Scott Ewert, head of Seedcare and Biologicals at Syngenta Canada, the partnership with RIZOBACTER brings additional expertise to Syngenta’s pulse crop offerings, according to the companies.
This introduction marks an effort by Syngenta to expand its product lineup in response to the growing demand for inoculants that can perform under varying environmental conditions.
