Register by July 3 for CSGA’s Upcoming AGM

Registration closes for the Canadian Seed Growers’ Association (CSGA) annual meeting taking place virtually July 6.

The meeting takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It will be Doug Miller’s first AGM as executive director, he noted in an interview this week.

“It’s going to be a really great opportunity to talk about the year that was and do a reflection — it’s always important to know where you’ve been to understand where you need to go in the future,” Miller says.

“We would have loved to have been back in person this year, but AGMs don’t happen overnight. For us, you know, there were a lot of other internal priorities. We’re looking to an in-person AGM in 2023, which we will announce at the July 6 meeting. I think people are going to be really excited about it.”

The July 6 meeting will also see President Joe Rennick pass the gavel. Miller notes Rennick has been one of CSGA’s few “virtual presidents.”

“There’s been a few presidents who never actually got to touch the physical gavel,” Miller says.

CSGA will also hand out its annual Robertson Associate and Honorary Life
Award recipients. A town hall session and an update on Seed Regulatory Modernization will also take place, among other agenda items.
