Cibus welcomes Denise Schmidt as the company’s director of sales. Denise will be responsible for the Cibus seed sales team leadership in Canada and the U.S., driving revenue, and will also contribute to marketing and seed business strategy. Denise starts her new role June 1 and will report directly to David Sippell, vice-president and general manager North America Canola.
Denise has a passion for agriculture and comes to Cibus with over 20 years of experience. A graduate from the University of Saskatchewan and a professional agrologist, she has worked in all facets of agriculture from crop production, grain handling and the pedigree seed industry. Most recently she held the position of national sales manager at FP Genetics where she developed a strong track record of delivering business results in a constantly changing fast-paced growth environment.
Before that Denise worked at Cargill AgHorizons in Oakner, Man., where she was responsible for sales and grain marketing. She is actively involved in leadership roles in the Canadian Seed Trade Association as the chairperson of the Western Cereals and Oilseeds Committee and on the Women in Ag committee. She currently resides at the edge of Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba.
