CSTA Recognizes Outstanding Individuals in the Seed Industry

The Canadian Seed Trade Association, at its 91st Annual Meeting in Banff, Alta., recognized three outstanding individuals for their contributions to the seed industry during a luncheon July 14.

Bill Leask received CSTA’s Honorary Life Membership Award and Lorne Hadley received the CSTA Seed Achievement Award. Additionally, Ron DePauw was recognized with the 2014 Plant Breeding and Genetics Award.

 Leask served as CSTA’s CEO for more than 27 years representing seed industry issues at the provincial, national and international levels. Meanwhile Hadley is best known quantifying the value of the seed industry and his work on intellectual property.  For more information about Leask and Hadley click here.

Through his many accomplishments in plant breeding and striving to bring farmers improved cultivars, DePauw has been dubbed the “billion dollar man.” Read more about DePauw here.
