S&W Seed Company has appointed alfalfa industry veteran Kirk Rolfs as the company’s vice president of production. Rolfs will be responsible for contracting seed growers and management of the company’s newly acquired seed processing facility in Nampa, Idaho — where Rolfs oversaw operations for DuPont Pioneer prior to the acquisition by S&W.
S&W Seed Company has also appointed Robin Newell as the company’s vice president of North American sales. Newell will be responsible for alfalfa seed sales and marketing. His responsibilities include the dormant portion of the S&W brand, including the key distribution relationship with DuPont Pioneer where he will provide continuing alfalfa product line guidance, develop private label business relationships for dormant alfalfa varieties and expand the company’s North American presence. Newell comes to S&W Seed Company following 32 years in the seed industry with DuPont Pioneer.
