Bayer CropScience Introduces New Soybean Varieties

This week, Bayer CropScience introduced 12 new Credenz soybean varieties with the LibertyLink trait available for the 2015 growing season.
“Soybeans are a priority crop for Bayer CropScience,” says Allen Gent, the company’s U.S. soybean product manager.  “We’re making significant investments to ensure we keep pace with growers’ evolving needs and deliver the best technology to the marketplace at the right time. Our expanded Credenz portfolio and strengthened germplasm base represent strategic moves in that long-term effort.”
As farmers in the south continue to battle increasing weed pressure, Bayer representatives report that these new varieties are designed specifically for farmers in the Mid-South, Mid-Atlantic and Southern U.S. regions.
The 2014 Stratus survey found that 57.6 percent of all U.S. farmers reported they had glyphosate-resistant weeds in 2014. In Arkansas alone, the survey showed that 94.4 percent of farmers reported the presence of glyphosate-resistant weeds.
