Illinois Foundation Seeds Announces CEO’s Retirement

Illinois Foundation Seeds, Inc. announced that John Hiser will retire as CEO effective Oct.1. Chief financial officer George Terry will succeed Hiser as CEO. Terry has more than 39 years of experience with IFSI in several capacities and his close working relationship with Hiser and the board of directors will ensure a smooth transition, according to the company.
Hiser enjoys a 37-year career with IFSI with experience in research, sales, brokerage and general management. He is a former president of the Illinois Seed Trade Association and vice president of the Illinois Crop Improvement Association. He will remain on the IFSI board of directors.
Naugle Named IFSI Sweet Corn Division President
Clinton Naugle has accepted the position of sweet corn division president. Naugle will work with the CEO and board of directors to assure the division reaches strategic and financial goals, and exceeds client expectations for product and service. He has previously served as a key account manager for the division.
Thompson Named Vice President of IFSI Sweet Corn Research
Charlie Thompson accepted the position of vice president of sweet corn research. He will be responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of plant breeding and product development techniques, continuing the IFSI tradition of industry-leading sweet corn genetics. Thompson was previously the sweet corn breeder and station manager at IFSI’s Tolono, Illinois, location. He will remain there.
