Industry Legend Bill Latham Passes Away After Battle with Cancer

Former American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) president and industry legend Bill Latham has died. He was 74.
Latham of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away July 31 after a nearly six-year battle with leukemia.
According to his obituary, Latham helped grow Latham Seed Company into a regional seed business that provided soybean seed to the upper Midwest. He served as the president of the company and enjoyed the research side of the business.
In addition to serving as president of ASTA, he was president of the Independent Professional Seed Association (IPSA) and the Iowa Seed Association. Latham and his wife Linda traveled to five continents and nearly every state, promoting the seed industry.
