Monsanto appoints Tony May as managing director of its operations in Australia and New Zealand. Tony takes over the role from Daniel Kruithoff who has held this position for the past four years and who now takes up an international role within Monsanto.
This change has been planned for some time to ensure a seamless transition that allows the company to continue to serve its customers, collaborate with partners and continue to develop its pipeline of innovative technology and products for local farmers, Monsanto said.
May has been Monsanto’s technology development lead for four years and has been with the company in various roles over 14 years, including previously leading Deltapine’s Australian operations. Tony’s deep knowledge of the business, record in developing and launching new products such as Bollgard 3 and extensive experience within the cotton and canola industries provides important continuity for the business and its customers.
In his new role, Tony will be responsible for leading Monsanto’s Rowcrop, Crop Protection and BioAg business units to ensure the company continues offer farmers the innovative technology they need to improve their productivity and sustainability.
Kruithoff becomes the company’s marketing & product development lead for Asia and Africa. He will lead the company’s marketing organisation responsible for its broadacre crops, crop protection and seed applied solutions businesses across diverse markets in Asia and Africa.
