The Seed Innovation & Protection Alliance (SIPA) will host a technical education unit Sept. 21 in Monterey, California, that focuses on the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
The unit, which will be held at the Monterey Plaza Hotel on Cannery Row, will begin at 2:30 p.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. Participants will learn about the basics of intellectual property enforcement, seed label enforcement and maintaining confidentiality in an enforcement matter. Additionally, Matt Grant of Husch Blackwell will highlight obstacles that might occur when dealing with a seed enforcement issue.
It is requested that individuals interested in participating reserve their spot by Sept. 15 by contacting James Weatherly, SIPA executive director, at 303-861-2900 or jamesw@seedipalliance.com.
This educational unit is being held in conjunction with the California Seed Association’s Mid-Year Meeting Sept. 20-21. For more information about the Mid-Year Meeting, visit calseed.org/events.html.
