Gro Alliance announces that it has signed an agreement to acquire the Thompson Family Enterprises soybean seed conditioning facility in Leland, Iowa. The facility was the former headquarters of Thompson Seeds and NuTech Seed.
The Leland facility complements Gro Alliance’s current network of soybean seed facilities by adding access to 1.5, 2.5 maturity production in one of the nation’s best soybean seed growing areas. The site features state-of-the-art conditioning and treating equipment with expansive warehouse space. Further, the location’s proximity to Albert Lea, Minn. and Mason City, Iowa make it an ideal distribution hub for Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa.
“The Leland facility gives Gro Alliance a soybean production footprint that stretches from North Dakota to Central Illinois,” says Jim Schweigert, president of Gro Alliance. “In both seed corn and soybean seed production, we access only the most elite growing areas, partner with the best growers and use state-of-the-art facilities with experienced operators to produce the highest quality seed and best client experience in the industry.”
