Snack Lettuce Wins Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award

Snacks, raw products and the consumption of fresh products at any time of the day is a current trend. This week, Rijk Zwaan presented a new convenience concept called Snack Lettuce. The snack-sized lettuce has been specially developed for warm preparation, keeping its firm and crunchy bite. The lettuce spoon is tasty and sweet and brings new solutions and possibilities to the modern cuisine. An additional advantage of Snack Lettuce is the reduction of plastic, when using it as an edible cup.

Eat the Spoon

A marketing campaign was launched during Fruit Attraction by the Snack Lettuce partners, under the slogan ‘The best of your dishes… the spoon’. Several tastings were organized and blogger Verónica Sánchez (#OhMamyBlue) and singer Xuxo Jones promoted the tastiest lettuce spoon, which was hashtagged #eatthespoon during the whole event. Snack Lettuce has been developed in close cooperation with trading companies such as El Dulze, Jimbo Fresh, Fruca and Comfresh.

MyCubies, Cabbisi and Elfy

Also new this year has been the presentation of the first 100% lettuce Wrap. A valuable solution for on the go consumption, there are four different fillings available: tuna, chicken, cabbage humus and cheese.

Other innovative concepts Rijk Zwaan has presented at Fruit Attraction include MyCubies, Cabbisi and Elfy. MyCubies brings us snack cucumbers presented in a new 3 units bag packaging. Cabbisi, the new mini pointed cabbage is presented as an alternative main ingredient for salads. Elfy is a delicious and crunchy mini celery, which is more convenient due to its smaller size.
