ASTA Supports Implementation of U.S.-China Phase One Trade Agreement

China yuan banknote on China flags and US dollar banknote on united states flags for trade war economy crisis concept.

On August 5, the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) joined more than 30 agribusiness groups in sending a letter to Ambassador Tai and Secretary Yellen voicing industry support for continued engagement with China on trade and economic issues, including full implementation of the U.S.-China Phase One Trade Agreement.

“The Chinese government has met important benchmarks and commitments made in the agreement that benefit American businesses, farmers, ranchers, and workers,” states the letter. “For example, commitment by China to open its markets to U.S. financial institutions, and other U.S. financial service providers, reflects a hard-won U.S. achievement, and years of work by administrations of both parties.”
