Researchers across the United States have joined forces to make new discoveries about industrial hemp that will help push hemp to become a viable and profitable crop in the U.S.
The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) is funding the dozens of competitive and noncompetitive projects.
NIFA has invested more than $20 million in hemp-related studies in fiscal years 2021 and 2022 alone. Their efforts range from large multistate projects to grants that allow small businesses to develop innovative technologies, explained a news release from NIFA.
