Roy Cantrell is a Florida-based plant breeding consultant with a long history working to feed the world. He’s also a mentor for the Borlaug Scholars program. We chatted with him earlier this month at the 2018 meeting of the National Association of Plant Breeders about challenges young breeders face and why he loves mentoring the next generation of “hunger-fighters”.
