Syngenta to Launch its First Ukrainian Sunflower Hybrid in Ukraine

Endemic Helianthus anomalus (Sand sunflower) in San Juan County, Utah, southeast of Halls Crossing in shifting sand dunes. Typical plants with multiple branches, shiny light green leaves, and whitish stems.
Syngenta company will bring the first 100%-Ukrainian-bred sunflower hybrid to the market in the near future. The hybrid is at the testing phase now. The company is planning to add three new sunflower hybrids to its seed portfolio, reports UkrAgroConsult.

In addition, Syngenta is going to step up seed sales by seven per cent in 2017. In late June, the company opened a research station in the village of Chumakivske, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Syngenta AG is a Swiss company, a leading plant protection and seed producer. The company was founded in November 2000 as a result of a merger of the agricultural units of Novartis AG and AstraZeneca Plc. Syngenta’s head office is located in Basel (Switzerland). The company operates in 90 countries.
